Left Ctrl / ZHold to crouch / go prone. Both reduce movement noise.

Collect

Inventory

1–9Select a hotbar slot; press 0 for bare hands.
IOpen inventory. Click a stack, then its destination to move it; right-click selects half.
EPick up the targeted apple or loose item, including meat.
Q / Ctrl + QDrop one item / the whole stack. In inventory, point at the slot.

Shift+Delete discards one stack; Ctrl+Shift+Q places all matching materials in a nearby pile; if there is no room, they stay in inventory. Tools are protected.

Space and carry weight limit collection. Tools are provided and reusable. Dropped building materials become terrain; dig them to collect again.

Choose an action

Fight, dig, build, or throw

GCycle available modes. The panel left of the hotbar marks the active mode; unavailable icons are gray.
FSelect fighting mode. Block highlights disappear; missed attacks never dig.
Left click / DeletePerform the selected action. Hold to fight or finish a selected cut or building layers; release before starting the next. Click once per throw.

Bare hands start in Fight. Digging tools start in Dig and remember your choice. Shovels and pickaxes can fight, dig, or build; axes fight or dig. Building materials offer Build and Throw.

Create

Digging and building

Left clickIn digging mode, hold to collect: hands for soil, grass, leaves, or loose wood; shovel for soil, grass, or leaves; pickaxe for rock; axe for wood.
Middle click / EPick up an item; with a shovel, collect nearby loose items. Matching items stack; excess stays on the ground.
Wheel / Shift + wheelWith shovel, pickaxe, or axe in Dig/Build: set area (1×1–5×5) / digging depth or building layers (1–5).
LIn Dig/Build, lock or unlock the aimed wall, floor, or ceiling plane. Move your aim along it to continue the surface.
TrowelIn Build mode, level soil: wheel sets area, L locks height, hold left click. Gold cuts fill blue holes; spare soil goes to inventory, shortages use stored soil. Clear obstacles first.
Left clickIn building mode, hold to place selected soil, rock, wood, or leaves. Shovel places soil; pickaxe places rock. Red cells block the whole layer; the hint explains why. Building pushes water aside if there is room.

Yellow previews show digging; blue shows placement. Aim through water at the solid surface to dig or build. Each placed block costs one material. Support wide roofs with pillars or arches; removing supports can cause collapse.

Survive

Food, water, and fighting

Right clickEat a selected apple or meat. Cooked meat restores more food than raw.
RAim at sufficiently deep water to refill your canteen; drinking from it is automatic.
Left clickIn fight mode, attack with hands, a shovel, axe, or pickaxe; hold to repeat. Hunt rabbits and wolves for meat.
GSelect throwing mode for soil, rock, wood, or leaves. Wheel adjusts power; left-click throws along the dots. G cycles modes; Esc cancels. Hits damage animals and players; blocks settle on landing. Throw wood into fire to burn it.

Watch health, food, water, and stamina on the HUD. Starvation, dehydration, fire, and hard falls can hurt or kill you; hits flash red, and a red border warns of critical health. Death loses your inventory and returns you to the menu. Reconnect with full resources and starter tools. Deep water cushions falls. Wolf packs can attack; quieter movement helps avoid detection.

Make camp

Fire and cooking

Gather and light

Right-click grass with empty hands for dry grass; in Dig mode, left-click leaves with hands or shovel. Select the fire starter and right-click solid ground. Cost: 4 wood plus any mix of 2 dry grass or leaves.

Keep it burning

Right-click a campfire with wood to refuel or relight it: +1 minute, up to 8 minutes. Fire spreads to touching wood and leaves, including diagonally. Wood burns for 5 minutes; leaves for 15 seconds. Larger fires light a wider area and make a taller smoke plume. Flames hurt players and animals; damage increases up to 10 burning blocks. Animals avoid the bright interior but may approach the dim edge.

Control fire with water

Bring flowing water or rain into direct contact with fire to cool it. Rain also soaks exposed oak and apple wood: damp wood burns with weaker flames and is harder to ignite; enough moisture puts it out. Roofs keep wood dry, and wet wood slowly dries after the rain stops. Aim at a block to see its temperature and moisture in the target panel.

Cook meat

Right-click a burning campfire or block with raw meat. After 15 seconds, right-click with empty hands to collect it; it burns away at 45 seconds. One piece per fire block; collect before the fire goes out.

Shape the world

Water and weather

Finite, flowing water

Water is finite and flows downhill through channels and openings. Dig to redirect it, or build to push it aside when there is space. Use channels to irrigate soil and plants. Water can cushion a fall, but currents and deep water make movement harder.

Rain and the water cycle

Rain adds real water to exposed ground, plants, wood, lakes, and channels. Sun and wind slowly return exposed moisture to the air; vapor forms clouds and later falls as rain. A roof shelters the blocks beneath it.

Heat, steam, and mist

Fire heats nearby water before it boils. Hot exposed water gives off visible steam; humid air can appear as a soft local mist. Smoke, steam, and mist drift and fade with the weather. Aim at any block to read its current temperature in the target panel.

Find your way

Map, chat, and menus

M / LToggle map / toggle nearby animal markers while the map is open. Bright terrain is current, dim is remembered, black is unexplored. Exploration resets on reconnect.
Left AltRelease the mouse for map controls; click the game view to capture it again. Close the map to dig or build.
T / EnterOpen chat; Enter sends. Start commands with /; Tab completes available commands.

F1 / F3Toggle help / detailed status information.
[ / ]Previous / next song; skips the music pause.
EscClose a panel or open game settings. Audio changes apply immediately and save automatically. Choose Exit to main menu to leave the game.

Customize keys in client bindings.toml, then run /bindings reload. For direct mode shortcuts, set command = "action fightMode", using digMode, buildMode, or throwMode for the other modes; cycleMode cycles them. The panel shows your configured shortcuts. Tab remains command completion.

The target panel identifies the block under the crosshair and shows details such as temperature and moisture. Plants need moisture and daylight; trees grow and drop apples.

Your own world

Local games and admin tools

Choose Play locally. On your first launch, paste an invitation key and select Start game while connected to the internet. After activation, local play works offline without asking for the key again. You automatically have administrator access; no multiplayer account is needed.

Space × 2Double-tap to toggle flight. Fly with WASD; Space rises, Shift descends, Ctrl boosts speed.
Ctrl + SpaceTeleport 20 blocks upward and enable flight.
M / Left AltOpen the live world map / release the mouse. Left-click a location to teleport onto its surface; right-click to arrive 20 blocks above it, flying.
F4 / F5Inspect the aimed block or animal / save the inspection report. Page Up and Page Down scroll it.
F6 / F7Teleport 20 blocks above the inspected target / put the inspected animal into hunting mode.

Turning Survival mode off removes hunger, thirst, and low-needs stamina penalties. Food and water still decrease; you can eat and refill. Attacks, fire, and falls still hurt. Exit to main menu saves and stops your local world; Play locally resumes it.
